There have been a lot of changes since version 8.0.0566, including many visual changes: New graphics and icons, darker and more defined color schemes and lots of interface changes.
You can download MSN Messenger 8.0.0683 (15.3 MB - English) from this mirror. (Please note that this is not a public BETA, but a leaked download).
A lot of work has also gone into the Options dialog in this build. A lot more options are now integrated into this dialog, including Sounds and Alerts, more security options, Color Schemes and lots of other small additions which make all the MSN Messenger options and settings much more accessible.
The MSN Today popup (or Windows Live Today from this version forward) has also been implemented in this version. You can stop the popup from apearing each time you sign-in using the checkbox at the bottom of the MSN Today window. For more details, you can refer to our previous post on stopping the MSN Today popup in MSN Messenger (also applies to MSN Messenger 8.0).
Some other misc. notes:
- Option to temove 'Contact Says:' text before messages added
- New improved and 'crisp' sounds (for new mail and message notifications, etc)
- The 'On The Phone' status has been renamed to 'In a Call' in sync with Windows Live Call
- Interoperability with Yahoo Messenger not implemented yet.
