For several years now, e-mails claiming that the MSN Messenger service is to become a completely paid service have been circulating.

Just to clarify things for everyone, there is currently no indication that MSN Messenger is going to become a completely paid service any time soon, and will most likely never happen.

There are however premium services and content for MSN Messenger that are not free (such as Blue Mountain MSN Emoticons, Display Pictures and MSN Winks), but the core MSN Messenger service will remain free of charge.
